Amer Al Ahbabi plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing professional finance education and ethical standards across the region through his involvement with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)—one of the world’s most respected associations for management accounting and financial professionals.

As an IMA Global Board Member, and a Regional Advisor for the Middle East and Africa, and former IMA Chapter President Amer has helped spearhead initiatives that connect academic institutions, government entities, and private sector partners to IMA’s globally accredited certification programs such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant), FMAA, and CSCA.

His work with IMA is driven by a vision to:

From signing MoUs with universities and government departments to launching student chapters and AI-era IFRS summits, Amer continues to bridge global best practices with local capacity building through his strategic role at IMA.
